none at all and now they have changed ALL their customer support numbers to an 0870 number! the only time you get a free number is if you hit the new customer button.

well my exchange is Medway (NDMED).
Originally with Wanadoo, and was getting 1-2meg on their 18.99 package. When Orange took over i changed to the free service as i have an Orange mobile, and was then convinced to "upgrade" to the 8mb service. I knew i wasn't going to get 8mb but for a while i did acheive 4-5mb for a few months. Then after a mix up over direct debits my connection was suspended, and when they turned it back on again...
VIOLA!! I now get a blistering 131k!!
But i don't think it is the exchange as one of my neighbours had an open wireless connection, and this was giving nearly 6mb!

If you are getting poor speeds on LLU name and shame your exchange here.
My Exchange is CAERPHILLY I am supposed to get upto 8 Megs but only get 950kbps which varies during the day/night. at the worse end it drps as low as 240kbps for which I pay 19.99 per month.
Last October they put me on LLU and was 4months with DSL light flashing etc then they put me back on IP streaming no problems since then. But they put me back on LLU August with some problems but they seem to have ironed them out now. I went on the Wireless livebox 6 weeks ago and to date (touch wood ) all OK. but speed nowhere near what they promise, however its better than before.
leighton.
Starting with mine:
Weston-super-Mare - speeds 2.2 - 2.7
Orange will then know which exchanges they have to work on - probably all of them. These posts will also show which exchanges have Orange LLU, details of which Orange do not fully publish.
I have read on another newsgroup that Orange TS are saying:
"That the only `deliberate` capping in place is where users abuse the limits". A fault was raised for that exchange - result awaited.

It is now clear that if you are on Orange LLU anywhere in the country the best speed you will get is 2.7 if you are lucky. Otherwise it will be considerably slower.
29 April 2007 - All of a sudden speeds are increasing
May 2007 - Many slow speeds reported both LLU and Max.
11 June 2007 - Various reports of LLU Speeds Increasing
18 June 2007 - Whilst some speeds are better, there are still reports of very slow speeds.
Thanks fpr the advice but because this broadband packeage is "free" with my mobile, I can't leave the contract without paying through the nose (about 600 quid!).
At the same time Orange are saying that the "broadband suppliers are a different company", so nothing to do with Orange.....
Well, the BB ISN'T free, the costs are included in my mnthly mobile bill.
If only I could stop paying that (without Orange sending the boys round), I'm sure things would move more quickly....
Shelpa in Delhi was engaged by the way. I'll be ringing her again later. I've had a bath and everything.....
If they are unable to contractually supply part of the service then that does not hold you or Orange to the total contract.
By all means keep the mobile contract going but you are entitled to cancel the "free" broadband service without charge because they are unable to fulfill the supply of that part of the contract.

Tell France Telecom that Orange UK are sub-contracting their broadband operations !!!!!.......what a load of tosh......I'll bet you were talking to Orange India weren't you ?

Right first time!
I get the idea they'll tell any level of lie to get you off the line.
OFCOM have been informed of this fiasco, hopefully, something will come of that.
5 weeks 1 day with out broadband. It's a scandal! (and Shelpa blew me out!)
I'm in Chesterfield. Although not officially llu ( i think) there has been an upgrade to allow speeds of up to 8mg. The upgrade took place about 8 months ago. this coincides with my speeds dropping/stopping and being capped at 2mb even though i'm supposed to be getting 8mb.
