i wouldnt expect it to go up, it will prob go down lol, hopefully you be one of the lucky ones. loads on here arnt getting the speeds they should do,after the so called "upgrade"
but to answer your question normally takes around 5-10 working days, mine took 7,just do a few speedtests after 10 working days, n see if u actually improve ur speed
I upgraded in august and i am still waiting for my speed to go up.
I,m capped at 2 meg but after quite a few EXPENSIVE phone calls they finally got BT to re-grade my line as i knew my line can go a lot faster (now 5.5 meg).
But now they are refusing to give me the faster speed unless i enter into a new 12 month contract and there is NO WAY i,m doing that.
So now my complaint has being sent to the escalations dept. because i have refused to back down as this was the speed that i am supposed to get from the time i upgraded to 8 meg package.
Also i have told them that i want a refund on my account from the date i upgraded to the date that i will finally get my proper speed.
So i suggest you do the same when you get your correct speed.
Interestingly I checked the speed before I connected the livebox and with both my Belkin and Speedtouch it said 2.2, as soon as the livebox went on it tested at 8. I wonder if the Belkin and speedtouch cannot support this speed or did Orange turn it up as soon as the Livebox was detected.
I joined homemax on the 1/10/07 got my livebox 4/10/07 tried it but it would work, do you think I have wait a little longer for them to finish setting it up? Grumpyoldman what area are you in?

Sorry for the rant!
Just an update on my supposed upgrade to 8 meg.
Well today i finally snapped with tech support because in my opinion are useless!
After many supposed line tests my speed was still capped to 2 meg and they would not do anything about it, so i got through to 'english' speaking customer support (WOW which is a first for this company)!
I have told them to stick their unlimited 8 meg where the sun don,t shine and put me back on the FREE broadband package with my phone as they were in breach of my contract by not giving me what i was paying for.
They agreed and i,m also having a refund on what i paid them for the 8 meg package.
So now i,m on the free 2 meg package of which i will use until my phone contract runs out and then i,ll move to another isp.
It's like trying to sell a brand new car with no wheels on! crazy! It's been 9 working days now since i switched to 'homemax' and I'm still at 2meg and still NOT got my second line number, I've had a letter from BT saying they've had an instruction to change the phone line so something must be happening at least, I'll be happy to wait as long as they're not taking the £24 off me. Saw an advert in the paper for 'homemax' today and maybe they'll be tv ad's aswell so more people are going to be joining so more delays may be around the corner!?!?
