hi all, browsing around on the net trying to see if my internet was slow, done many speed test, found out that it is more than likely oranges fault, anyway got some stats if some1 wouldn't mind looking at them and telling me if their ok or not..........
Speed tester from broadband choices results for past 7 days, testing my computer at least 3 times a day.........
Average download speed 2.25Mbs
Average upload speed 0.37mbs
and also i am very unhappy with the service i have had ever since they switched to Orange, i was more than happy when it was wanadoo..........but now when my contact ends in december, i'm thinking of changing to BE or BT.[/img]
One other piece of information is missing. Run a BT speedtest

and check the profile.
If it's over 4000 or so then it looks like you're getting bottlenecked somewhere.
If it's under 4000 then something seems like it's making the system think it's unstable or it's possibly stuck at that lower profile.
Your margin looks like it's knocked up 2 levels which can be an indicator of instability.
i done a BT speed test............says my line is compatable of receiving 7.2mb (from my line as well as the distance from my exchange)
but the results came back that i was only getting around 1025kbps down and 260 kbps up.
my router is connected directly to my master socket with an extension lead (my livebox is in my room) i tried taking it downstaires and plugging it directly into the master socket and run some tests...........made no difference whatsoever.
