IP profile for your line is - 5000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 6496 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 4521 kbps
Looking at your attenuation and noise margin figures, I would say thats probably about the best speed you'll get.
Remember its an "up to" 8 meg service.
What do you think of my line? Here's my stats, my question is is my ip profile limiting my speeds or will changing it to say 8.1(or whatever), degrade the quality of my line too much (I use the VoIP phone). Max speeds of
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 13.7
Attenuation (dB) : 26.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 10272
ADSL status : Connected [0]
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6432 kbps
to be honest that speed is pretty good, i wouldnt be too down hearted about that, most others cant even get half that and they on the same package, your never going to get the full 8mb anyway,
sosrandom, there is no higher profile, you're already running at the maximum possible.
sman100, I generally agree with premiercuts. You probably won't be able to get much more speed from that line. If it was stable above a 6240 sync speed then you could get a 5500 profile. You may be able to help that by checking your phone sockets and wiring, just a small gain to push it a little higher or make it stable may get you that little bit extra speed. 6000 would be quite a push and you'll probably not be able to run that fast.
