After long rant with person high up in Orange, today I got call from senior customer support person. They admitted that all these PPP server doiwn eroors etc are due to bugs in their server software and that all the resets etc are to try to force the Livebox to log to a different server. They are waiting for a software upgrade that is (apparently) imminent. So perhaps they are telling the truth finally.
As a further matter of interest, after being without broadband for over a month and the usual many,many calls to Tech Support, I tried the Speedtouch modem fix found on this forum AND IT WORKED!!! Now have broadband back, although only at 2MB rather than the * I was getting before. Very soon off to new ISP..
There will be posts here where Orange stafff have admitted to members they've got problems with their kit going back to January IIRC - but nothing's been done about it yet, has it?
Just wanted to add my thanks for the speedtouch modem 'fix'. I was getting nowhere with Orange (after 8 trouble free years). Switched modems & back again and the livebox works.
