lots of consumers like the idea of having different services offered to them in a combined package, as it generally results in a significant overall saving as well as being easier to track payments (i.e. on one bill).
To pick up on this very important point.
The consumer DOES NOT ask for this type of product.
Just like the consumer does not ask supermarkets for BOGOFs and perfectly formed, pre-packed fruit and veg.
It's the retailers that decide what they will market to the consumer and organise their advertising accordingly to convince the consumer that this is a "must have".

I haven't (so far!!) had any technical problems with Orange, and my Livebox has worked better/longer than the previous two wireless routers;my only problems have been financial.
However, as Keith says, there are benefits in this new package - for me a monthly saving of ~£5 - so I'm thinking about it - one of the advantages of where I live is that there are only ~1200 subscribers on the local exchange so can't see " unbundling" happening in the near future, if at all.
I'll probably wait and see whether the forums fill up with complaints before I jump however!
