Some of you may recall i DID ask for a MAC code TWICE in fact, and was refused both times ... eventually after 8 months Orange agreed it wasnt worth going to Arbitration for the money they suggested i owed so for all those out there with the same problem dont give in ...
Ask Orange for a CISAS reference to go to arbitration... I think its just a real shame that so many people have had to go down this route to cancel costs that should not be charged in the first place.
If Orange got their act together and sorted out these problems im sure everyone would be happy..... unfortunately i really cannot see Orange sorting any of these problems .... they dont have the knowledge OR the inclination to help their Customers ... their only purpose in life is to make as much money as they can.......at their customers expense...
Such a shame and poor show Orange, perhaps they need a lesson in PROPER customer service and bring in freephone call centres and technical support....?? after all ... they do have a telephone network supposedly that works so why not give their customers free calls for technical enquiries....perhaps they have too many unhappy customers ? or does it go back to the "make as much money as you can out of your customers" scenario again?....
Good Luck to all those unfortunate enough to be with this Company, i for one am so glad to be rid of them...
Sorry to bump an old post but had to comment on this. I asked Orange and they told me I was still on IPStream dispite evidence to the contrary (UL:288, PPP server error)
An upstream of 288 and a PPP server down error are just potential indicators. While less common PPP errors can and do happen on IPStream connections. Also IPStream connections (non-Max variety) use a fixed 288 upstream speed so it's quite possible you are on an IPStream connection.
You usually can tell from your connection stats and speeds but in some cases, to be sure, you'll need to ask.
the best way to check if your line is LLU is go to adsl24.co.uk
go through the procedure of migrating to them online. it will ask you to put your phone number in to check your line. it will show you if there is already an ADSL connection on the line but also if it is LLU for which ADSL24 charge you to migrate with them.
I was with Orange but wasn't LLU so migrated to ADSL24 free of charge. Fab speeds so far, best company ever
