Doesn't this make you just laugh out LOUD !! .... they cant get the bloody broadband right and they STILL promote c**p like this ....
Good old Mr Abensur recons Orange can serve all household communication needs !! hahaha who is he trying to kid??
Orange unveils home phone service
Mobile phone giant Orange unveiled plans to launch a home landline service.
The Orange Home Max deal includes a landline connection bundled together with broadband.
It is the first time Orange has moved into the traditional landline market.
The new service follows last year's launch of Orange's phone service over the internet which uses voice over internet protocol (VoIP).
Orange has set up a new customer support centre in Belfast to deal with landline customers.
The telecoms giant will also launch a digital TV service some time before Christmas.
Customers will get a single bill for landline and broadband although mobile phone charges will still be billed separately.
Orange Home UK vice president Eric Abensur said: "With the launch of our home phone service and new broadband packages, Orange is now able to serve all of a household's communication needs."
The firm will launch a £5 million marketing campaign to promote its new service.
What amazes me is why consumers think one company can be good at supplying such a wide range of services ?
Would they switch to British Gas if they started offering not only gas and electricity but mobiles, landline, broadband, car insurance, home insurance, package holidays.........where will it end ????

well personally i think Orange should sort out the tens of thousands of Broadband problems before they magnify the problem to hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions (if there are that many gullible people in this country). Surely they cannot expect ANYONE to sign up for this sort of "service" when they cannot even get their broadband sorted....can you imagine what they will do to the telephone system in this country if they get their greedy hands on it? Perhaps we go back to 2 tin cans with a long piece of string? ...it would undoubtedly be quicker than Orange Broadband lol.
As for selling gas/electric/car insurance etc if they get involved with that as well we may as well just surrender and go back to the bloody stone age lol cos thats what it would be like if these idiots got involved.
Come on Abensur, get a life, sort out one before you screw up even more.
The landline service is currently run by BT, after all it's their line, exchange, engineers, etc. Orange just buy a sort of wholesale service from them and then dictate the charges, features, etc.
Some will find it a good deal, after all the Home Max package is £24 and that includes the BT line rental. So you can either see it as getting line rental for £4 compared to the Select package or getting broadband for about £13.
The tv service is a freeview box, much like BT vision (lookup reviews of that for a rough idea what it'll probably be like), where subscription channels and on demand content is downloaded through an ethernet connection to the livebox.

So I ask again, why would anyone want to risk messing up all 3 services from one supplier, when you can get phone from BT, internet from any ISP and TV via Freeview or FreeSat ?......it may not be "cheap" using 3 suppliers but at least you get 3 independent services !!!

lots of consumers like the idea of having different services offered to them in a combined package, as it generally results in a significant overall saving as well as being easier to track payments (i.e. on one bill). Orange's competitors have been offering these kind of packages for a while (i.e. BT Vision, Tiscali TV / phone line, Sky TV / BB / landline calls, Talk Talk landline / broadband etc.) so Orange have to react by offering more services, to avoid being pushed out of the market.
To answer your question though, customers who go for these deals are either going to be new customers, or existing customers who have been happy with their service. So they will be thinking about the advantages of what is being offered to them, rather than the consequences of any potential problems.
I also ask again..... who in their right mind is going to use Orange for these services when they are linked to their Livebox....they dont work for a LOT of people and the ones who think they do work perhaps just dont know what else is out there and what speed is attainable on their line. Can you imagine streaming TV through a Livebox .... haha it reminds me of one of those books that you held in one corner and flicked the pages very quickly to see the moving picture lol...
now THATS progress Orange,......as for Orange..... well..... i will always suggest to people to steer well clear at least until they manage to learn how to run their systems correctly .........God thats gonna be one hell of a wait because all they are interested in is your money and NOT providing any usable service.

I like your positivity.....yes they will either be new or existing customers because ex-customers know what's good for them.
But when the "consequences of any potential problems" is realised, you'll lose them pretty quick......think "Northern Rock".

HERE IS OUR HAPPY CUSTOMER
Lmao
What I don't understand is why they are taking so long to sort these LLU problems out - they have been playing with it for 2 years now.
Challenge for Eric - ditch the help scripts and get the answers from this site, your customers will be far happier. I'm surprised that some manager has not thought of that. There are mainly only about six questions that we see time and time again.
But we still do not know how many satisfied customers there are.
I have got to say that the the last 6 Orange connections that have not been working, I have been called to, have all been down to the set up and not the fault of Orange.

But Orange have a contractual responsibility to ensure the product that they have sold to the customer actually works for that customer ? Otherwise why would they have a Technical Service Dept ?
If Orange TS identify that the set up is incorrect on the customer's PC and can suggest corrective actions then what do they have.......A SATISFIED CUSTOMER !!.......it's not rocket science, as we know, having seen many problems solved quickly on these pages.
The quality of TS Dept performance must be in question even within Orange.
As regards the LLU problems, personally I don't believe they know specifically what is causing them otherwise they would have corrected the problems by now, wouldn't they ?
