Hello,
I have been reading your recommendations on how to fix the ppp server down problems, but none of them have worked for me. I have not had the internet for nearly two months (it only worked for 2 weeks), and am seriously pi**ed, been fobbed off constantly on the phone. I cant seem to get out of the contract as its in my housemates name and hes away.
Orange even rang up the otherday (first time ever) to tell me my broadband was now working.....When it isn't, i quote 'we see no reason why your internet is not working, bye'
Is there anything I can do? Why the hell are Orange bb still in business?
Please help me!
1. Write an Official Complaint letter detailing the exact problem, ask for a response within 5 working days as per their complaints procedure.
2. If you don't receive a response in 5 working days, request a CISAS reference number because they have failed in their procedures.
3. If you do receive a response which you are not willing to accept, write again for a further investigation and ask for a response within 5 working days.
4. If they fail to respond in 5 working days, proceed as in (2) above.
5. If they do respond but the answer is unacceptable, proceed as in (2) above.
Sounds like a pain I know, but you must play them at their own rules to win.

Hello,
I have been reading your recommendations on how to fix the ppp server down problems, but none of them have worked for me.
I'm pretty interested in that bit. Can you write a bit more what *exactly* were your steps that didn't work - i.e. what router where you using, what settings (pppoa? pppoe? in which order?) and give as much details as you can.
Perhaps someone here will be able to help.

PPP SERVER DOWN
This is is generally a network/exchange fault.
First re-enter your username and password.
Others have solved this by installing another router or their Speedtouch 330 modem instead of Livebox - getting a connection - disconnecting - then going back to Livebox. There are several reports of this working. It appears that the network and Livebox jam up.
Others have also solved the problem by changing the normal settings:
Cheers for your help,i tried everything i could find on this website, the ideas you gave didnt work, (the poppoa thing etc). but i have now managed to get out of Orange bb contract so thats good and now have the internet again!
Keithwjones thank you!
I have had PPP server down for 3 days, numerous phone calls to Orange (and BT) and the usual sack of sh!t from the Orange Call Centre about resetting the Livebox and most irritating waiting 24-48 hours for a line test.
How come a forum like this can resolbe problems and thier robots on the other end of the line can only follow a script which doesnt effin well work!!!!
I am so annoyed with Orange and all the other problems I have had previously with them in the last 7 months - how I rue the day I moved from PlusNet.
Anyway your solution works perfectly - I canoonected with my old Voyager Modem, reconnected Livebox and bingo all ok. THANKS!!!!
