My Speedtouch 121g USB adaptor has stopped working. When I try to repair the wireless connection to my Livebox (which is working perfectly via a network cable) by right-clicking on the little icon in the tray, I get the report
"PRISM Profiles Server Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I see that a program called PRISMSVR.exe came with the Speedtouch installation CD. I've tried reiinstalling the software but that hasn't helped. Any ideas?
Thanks, Elhana - I've tried a complete reinstall and it's still not functional, gives the same error message as I quoted earlier. The installation process claimed that all was working but in fact it doesn't and when I try to open the Speedtouch dialogue box it comes on the screen for a moment and then goes off again so there is no opportunity to enter the WEP code, for example. Very frustrating!
I found the Speedtouch help file online, and tried a full hardware uninstall and then a reboot of the PC and reinstall of the CD. The installation CD program hung up part way through, but the Microsoft wireless network software kicked in, and now the Speedtouch 121g is working again! (Touch wood....)
Still can't get full web access on the iBook, though, even via cable to the Livebox. It is however accessing this web forum, which I find rather bizarre.
