At an overall average of 4 posts per member and several members with 100+ posts, I wonder how many of the 4744 members have made say more than 2 post or indeed no posts.

Actually - to add to this...
Elhana does a fantastic job here at OrangeProblems.co.uk including deleting spam posts. Often, where possible, the offending "member" is also deleted from our systems by myself...
We are able to trace spam members as they usually sign up with a Website and/or an ICQ and MSN address... These are ALL deleted from the system on sight!
In the member's profile pages, we have removed the MSN, Yahoo and ICQ addresses... We have left the website addresses in place. This may help reduce spam members as if they do not get their addresses posted then it becomes a waste of time for them... Website addresses are ONLY displayed for ACTIVE members!
In fact, there are a lot of new members recently who have signed up purely to record their broadband speeds with us (and thank you to them!)... Or to view the broadband speed statistics that we publish (the majority of the latter being media organisations).
I am certainly not naive enouugh to think that ALL members that we have listed are actively partaking in the website. But, the vast majority certainly are!
And talking about broadband speed statistics... Have you recorded yours today?!!!
OrangeProblems.co.uk is currently conducting the LARGEST BROADBAND SPEED SURVEY in the UK - and have been now for some months...
Are you part of the survey? If not and you want to be, visit our exchange search page, look up your exchange and then continue with the form below (registered members only) - it will take you less than a minute to get started, and then a few seconds each time you record your speeds. We give you all your own personal information, graphically and tabulated, and collate and verify all member's information to provide national statistics which are available to view on OrangeProblems.co.uk
This forum is teaming with complaints and although the number of people here are small in comparison to the total number of customers nation wide I think once you factor in a few things it actually starts to look very bad.
How many of the total population using Orange broadband will fit the criteria of:
1) Having cause to complain or even realising that something is wrong!
(Complaining via phone only will take the larger share here by far of those that actually do end up complaining, complaining on a 3rd party forum will be a minority of the unhappy numbers!)
2) Finding this website. Hell I've been using the net for nigh on 10 years now, have had problems with my connection in the past and never once even half considered typing 'orange problems' into Google....why would I?!?!?!
3) Registering once they are here. I personally am extremely fussy about registering to sites but my cause was so great on this issue I was pressed into it.
4) Writing constructively once they have gone through the above filtering process as opposed to being to afraid or simply observing in hope their problem is addressed by someone else.
So - in my opinion let's estimate a percentage guess at the above criteria:
1) Having cause to complain or even realising that something is wrong! - 50% MAXIMUM
2) Finding this website. - 10%, one in 5 of complainers doesn't sound unrealistic.
3) Registering once they are here. Of this 10% let's say half end up registering...we're now down to 5% of the total customer base with cause to complain.
4) Writing constructively once they have gone through the above filtering process - Of the final 5% i'd say no more than 2 in 5 end up posting. I owned a football forum for 5 years fed from a premiership teams official forum, I had hundreds of members...at most 2 in 5 ended up posting anything worthwhile.
Total of Orange customer base in my humble opinion that will end up coming here and posting something of value? 2%.
With the above in mind, I consider this site's registered number to be astronomical, absolutely and utterly NOT insignificant.
It's Orange's flippant attitude to the whole thing that is the problem.
Unless there's supporting evidence, as in real properly managed consumer surveys, then it's just conjecture and guesswork. It could be a very acurate guess then again it could be way off the mark without knowing which it's not much use.
Interesting post Carlos, but I have to quibble with one point:

If I'm looking for a solution online for anything then the word "problem(s)" will usually feature in my Google searchs. I had a problem with Orange broadband, so of course "Orange" and "Problem" were included in the search.

I said it was my opinion Besides, does anyone here think I suddenly became an authority on the subject? Maybe you're just doing your mediator mod thing?
The lower section is total guesswork but the top part does put it into perspective regardless...the persepctive being that if Orange are right (in that this forum represents a very small minority) then the total number of people who DO have problems is absolutely fricking massive!
I don't think an online forum can give an accurate measurement of people who are unable to get online. By the very nature of the complaint I would assume there are a lot more people unable but wanting to post here.
By the way customer services suddenly claim there is a system error everytime I have mentioned LLU or spt I think there are quite few of us on the phone.
Either way like I said before if there are only ten of us how come its taking them so long to fix things?
