Just found these forums after hours of hair pulling.
Have installed my Livebox no problems, have multiple machines connected wirelessly, I have also installed Freenas on an old P3 box I had lying around to act as a fileserver. The problem I am having is trying to access the ftp server. I can access it fromwithin my network, however when I try to access it from outside I get a connection established message from the ftp client but it then times out.
I have forwarded port 21 in the router settings, I also have the livebox update its ISP to a dyndns server. I think the problem is it isnt actually forwarding the port even though it is set too. I have also tried adding DMZ to the fileserver but again to no avail.
Tried turning the livebox firewall off? Also are you sure you've setup the FTP server correctly as it's easy to miss a setting that can prevent it working quite as you expect.
Unfortunatly yes I have the Firewall turned off as it needed to be set this way to use DMZ. The ftp server is setup correctly as I can access it from within the LAN.
I will setup a webserver on the same machine today and see if I can contact this. It just seems to me as if the Livebox is refusing to forward the port even though it is set.
