Well a free laptop does things to people's rational thinking.
Anyway at least this forum will be kept busy with thousands of new posts as a huge percentage of that 20,000 will experience problems with Orange's 'service'.

Going to get the laptop now, that's PCworld+Currys.

The nice man at the complaints department even rang me up today, to find out wether I had got my letter. I think if I have any problems again I may just go straight to him... he's very helpful

The guy who served me tried to sell me numerous things, I just sat down when he said "you do know you will need internet security, don't you?"

Ha Ha, I declined all of the promotional offers.

I got the Advent 7301, it's an extra PC, so I didn't need it to do a lot, just office + internet really.

Yep, I certainly think I will be changing ISP in approximately 18months time.

Does anyone have PC performance from PC World, I've got 2months free with it, I'm meant to have guides for Vista etc on it, but I don't know where to get them? Anyone have any suggestions?

Asked for complaints procedure, ombudsman etc. over a week ago now and a stunned silence has prevailed ever since.

Care to share the number?

Orange say it's PC World's problem, PC World say nothing to do with them it's down to Orange.

What is the score with this offer who is responsible for sorting out the mess?

It's all Orange's problem, nothing to do with PC World, the guy who I spoke to at complaints said there is a 20 day delay in the whole thing, and that's why it's such a mess

I ordered my new laptop from PC World on 23rd July, Have yet to received my laptop voucher!!! I received the modem about 10 days after signing up. Was very patient and called Orange yesterday who confirmed the voucher had apparently been sent out on 4th August, called them yesterday told me 5 days for a duplicate! After reading all other comments on forum, makes me wonder if the voucher ever was sent out. Fingers crossed i'll get it this week!

I suppose if I had the bottle to go and claim 'Well someone else must have got the original letter' etc. I could try it on but I did pay the difference with one of my cards so I don't think it would wash somehow. I'm also one of those that if it can happen, it will Sad

Registered 21/7/07 received my modem etc within 5 days and my line was activated 3/8/07.rang Orange/optima (the firm promoting this sham) on 3/8/07, 8/8/07,10/08/07 advised 5 working days for the golden ticket.rang again 15/8/07 51 minute call and 18/08/07 30 minute call with Orange putting the phone down on me.Have also emailed Orange who refer me back to optima and to ring the 0870 number.They also state they are web based and have no access to any information. Managed to get a free phone number for optima 0800-072-0983 have also emailed Watchdog. Will i get the laptop, Heaven knows.
P.s, i know of Three other people who registered after me, two of them have their laptops, the third received two golden ticket vouchers for their laptop but unfortunately Currys were out of stock.
