Well if he/she is then the chances of the downstream sync rate being exactly that of the ADSL 1meg service must be pretty remote but possible I suppose. Still think there on ADSL 1meg though as when the OP plugged into master socker and attainable rose, the downstrean and upstream syncs remained the same.
As you say it would be very rare for it to sync at that, practically impossible with the, in comparison, huge attainable speed. LLU often gets capped and they use exactly the same 1 and 2 meg IPStream sync speeds, the PPP server down problem would often have the speed reduced as a fix on LLU, it certainly fits with what's been said so far.
If you get in touch with them again ask they can confirm the speed you're currently on with Specialist Provisions or by checking in the LLUCO system.
Well i gave them a week to try and sort out the "KNOWN" problem. They confirmed this morning that the problem had been sorted and because i'm still getting only 1Mb download they are going to do a another stupid line check........I think i've had over 20 line checks done since signing up - lol.
Anyway i asked him to confirm what the LLUCO system said i was getting and he said a minimum of 2Mb upto 8 Mb.
I'm so glad i didnt get rid of my 20Mb line with Virgin.......at the moment i'm not paying for the Orange connection because of all the trouble i've had so i'll see if they can fix it.
I play alot of online gaming connecting to server in the US so i need a good reliable fast connection otherwise the pings are crap and the games get unplayable.
