Hello everyone, this is my first post, although its not regarding what i visited the site for.
Im already an Orange customer, and (you will like this) a PC World employee, if anyone is having problems recieving thier Orange letter there is no point complaining to PC World, they are no power to get the letter sent to you.
Maybe not. But I hope they will be more careful with which ISP s they do deals with.

Also you shouldnt be complaining about how PC World will try to sell you AV and other attachments for your laptop, as from experience you will be returning to the store within a week laptop in hand saying 'its got a virus' or 'it didnt come with a case!' As most people who are taking advantage of the offer are new laptop users.
I have been using PC s for >10 years and previously owned 2 Spectrums, a BBC B, and an Atari ST before then. I have run Dos 6.22,Windows 3.1, Windows 95,98,ME,2000 and XP. I currently run a dual boot Suse Linux 10.1/XP desktop and have a SLOW laptop running Windows 2000. My intention was purely to get a reasonable spec laptop for just under £70 as I was already paying £19.99/month for a "8 Meg uncapped" broadband service, so I migrated. (I will add here that there is no problem with the broadband connection. It tested at just over 6 Mbps at 0500 today, on a 6.5Mbps IP throughput connection.)
If I have to take the laptop back it will be because of a real fault.
I have no problem with PC World, just the people in Orange who appear to have screwed up what ought to be a straightforward deal.
Now I wonder if I can get some dosh back if I blow away the Vista?
(When I eventually get hold of the laptop )
im just saying dont complain to PC World (well do if it will make you feel better) but they can't do anything. (which i really disagree with, i think they should) but like Orange they think 'passing the buck' is the best solution.
21 days since sign-up and no letter. 709 days till MAC request and counting, Orange , I hope you are reading this. I think Trading Standards are going to be rung on Monday.
What does your Orange account say on the Orange homepage? What does it show in the statements page and also has your talk service been activated?
Did you get an email or text message telling you your account is active?
My line went active with Orange on Tuesday last week and I received a text message on Wednesday telling me my account was active (I also got an email on Friday night) and on Monday got my letter/voucher and collected my laptop the same day.

I was fairly certain that the account had not activated as the talk service is not active and there is no facility to manually turn it on like there should be on an active account. Also no e-mail telling me it is active.
I think I might be getting somewhere (I hope).
I rang Orange (again) this morning. Account still shows inactive but they checked the BT system which showed it was switched on 30th July. The lady went off and spoke with someone in the letters department who is sending the letter. Another 4-5 days
That would be the delay then. When mine line was activated I rang Orange to tell them and the english women rang btw to confirm, once she did that the balls starting rolling. Like I say line went active with Orange on tuesday, I rang them the same day to confirm. The next day got a text message telling me my account was active and then on Friday night I got 2 emails one telling me my talk service was active and the other to tell me my account was active and then received my letter Monday morning.

The English lady I spoke to today did sound like she knew what I was talking about unlike some representatives I have spoken to who I would put down to being off-shore and a few thousand miles east of here.
I will be awaiting further developments but it looks like they hadn't updated the system with the information from BT.

Trouble is you'll just as likely to get someone offshore like I did called Sayeed who gave me the network not working/call back in 3-4 hours runaround.
