My wife has just bought a brand spanking new notebook. We put in the load up CD for the 2mb pagkage, got to stage 4 and it wouldn't go any further. We called technical support, they seemed to recognise the phenomenon ('Did you get stuck at stage 4?) and said they'd call us back but never did.
Are there recognised problems with Vista & Orange broadband?
The http://192.168.1.1 link can only be accessed when you connect up the ethernet cable between the PC and Livebox and have it powered up.
Click on the "Access to the configuration pages" link, then choose My Services from the menu on the left, then Internet.
If you are prompted to login, the username is admin and the password is admin.
Then insert your username and password for connection to the internet.
Connection login=username - xxxxxxxx.freeserve.co.uk@fs
Connection password=your password
Do what Steve says, thats the old CD and it doesn't contain Vista drivers. It can be "made" to work but you'll be much better off getting the right drivers. Just make sure you uninstall the CD first.
DO NOT use driver CD's with vista as they just will not work, do what the other guy said a few posts up, simply plug in ur livebx via a network cable, goto 192.168.1.1 username and password are both admin, if u get a white page, remove the bit in the adress bar that says /hag/pages/home.htm then press enter, then click the Orange link, then my services, then internet, and put ur username and password in the boxes, then click validate and bang, you should be connected

Which would work if it was a livebox, for a Speedtouch 330 USB modem you require drivers, either from a CD or by downloading them direct first.
lol yes i didnt see that it was a speedtouch, sorry, i also used to use a speedtouch untill i installed vista, i got the vista drivers via a cd order off thier site, they sent me two copies of it and they still didnt work, i would suggest you get urself a cheap router that connects by ethernet as vista does not like usb modems at all, i would also recommend this as if you ever want to upgrade to an 8mb line you will gain alot more speed as usb takes alot more time to transfer data than ethernet connections.

The CD's you had to order were for beta drivers, from what I heard they were really hit and miss, most of the time being being a miss. The current Vista drivers should be fine though.
I do agree though, USB really shouldn't be used for that sort of data connection as ethernet was designed for it in the first place.
