During one of our phone calls last week, my mate was told that it wasn't anything to do with them and that we'd suffer the same with any other ISP, which had my blood boiling, I ended up ringing customer service and ranting about how much of a disgrace they were for about 20 minutes, I never even stopped for breath.
We'll be ringing back tomorrow, as with every day, to see if the Livebox reset works on the 89th time it's attempted.
I'm getting crap like this with the live box in our house. It goes acquiring PPP address, sychronising, connected then will work for a few seconds the lights start going haywire and ppp, sychronising, connected continually for periods of up to an hour looping every 30 secs, often less.
Anyone got any idea what is wrong with it or how to fix it.
Does anyone know if there are possible problems from doing this?
I'm so untechy it's not funny and I'm not confident about changing settings.
I've had four of these PPP type disconnections today, all in the middle of poker tournaments which is infuriating. Clicking on the "validate" button under the username and password in the configuration pages seems to work temporarily. It's driving me nuts. Indian call centre ditto.
i'm having the same problems, they said a BT engerneer is working on the line so it will be sorted in 5 days, 2 months later and still not sorted!! i'm giving it another week then canceling my direct debits & waiting for them to ring me to ask me why...

PPP SERVER DOWN
This is is generally a network/exchange fault.
First re-enter your username and password.
Others have solved this by installing another router or their Speedtouch 330 modem instead of Livebox - getting a connection - disconnecting - then going back to Livebox. There are several reports of this working. It appears that the network and Livebox jam up.
Others have also solved the problem by changing the normal settings:
Hi chaps, I'm having the same problem, but can't find the protocols page on my Livebox homepage to change to the different encryption.
I WILL try the Speedtouch trick tonight though. It's been Three weeks and if one more of those tech support b****** suggests a factory reset, I really won't be held responsible for my sarcasm.

I've now been back down for 4weeks with the same old PPP server down issue - I've rang ornage every day to be told ring back in 24 hrs. I've wrote to them and emailed them serval times - still nothing being done!
I'm totally disgusted by the lack of service. I call the mobile centre as I also have a mobile with them to be told to call techincal broadband ....
complete waste of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must be the world expert of factory resets by now
I have been told to install AOL and their modem, put in my Orange details, once connected plug livebox in - I'm going to try this when I get home
