After being with Orange broadband for very nearly 12 months now, i was very impressed with the service until recently. I pay 10GBP per month on top of my 35GBP per month Orange contract, for my internet access. (Which is cheap as chips! ) Although the 2mbps speed is slow, its the best that my exchange allows so i learned to live with it.
But,
I am now experiencing connection drops regularly, at least 15 times per night, and has been doing for approximately 1 month now. I have called Orange technical support on 450 (somewhere in Bangalore), and spoke to some woman who couldn't understand English, let alone what my problem was.
Finally got through to her manager and was told that i had to call another number 08700102462, option 1, option 5, to talk to a different department who could help as they specialise in solving this type of problem, and that it is very common and easy to resolve?! (Which i don't believe for one second after spending an hour or 2 browsing these forums...)
I have waited on hold on that number for 1hr with no answer on 4 different occasions now.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this problem as it gets very annoying when using my PC, and especially so when i use my Xbox 360 online...
Dropping my broadband speed down to 512kbps is not an option, 2mbps is too slow as it is.
I would look into the option of changing ISP's but at the moment, as i am a student, i cannot really afford to pay any more than i am currently paying, which is the main reason for me joining Orange BB in the first place :S
