I have seen it argued that turning the Livebox off may make the system think the line is unstable and automatically reduce speed, but I'll let the likes of Elhana confirm or rubbish that theory.
Because my daughter sleeps a few feet from the box I do disable the wireless at night, just to be safe. In fact I use a direct shortcut to do this (and another to turn it back on) which I think Elhana posted on another forum.

It's only for ADSL Max that turning it on and off really makes a difference. Generally it's fine to do but if you get disconnections anyway then it may contribute to the system automatically limiting the connection.
