I have just got a new PC. I am connecting wirelessly to the livebox using a Netgear WG111T USB adaptor and Vista Home Premium. I've got the livebox unsecured to make things easy.
When it's connected it works fine. But every few hours the wireless connection hangs and my PC will no longer connect. I have to unplug and replug the livebox to get it to work again.
Whilst it's not working on this PC, the wifi still works fine on other devices I use.
No it's just this one, new, PC. Even when it drops, other devices stay connected.
Restarting the PC doesn't help - it fails to connect once it's restarted. Only restarting the live box helps, which is pain for people on the other devices! That said, it did reconnect OK having been turned off all night, so turning off the PC and leaving it for a few hours works too!
Try changed the wireless channel on the Livebox, if it's only effecting one computer that's probably where the problem is. Check to see if the USB ports are set to power down after a certain time also, sometimes it switches then off. Most likely the frequency channel though, just go through all 13 til you find one that works.
I am currently having a similar problem, my pc connects to livebox fine, however my nintendo wii and other pc will only connect to livebox if you press the pairing button each time and this cuts off eventually. I was wondering if you had solved this problem. One thing i did notice was that in the associated devices page of the router, only my pc is featured.
