I have a question as I should be getting my MAC from Orange soon and then hope to move to Be.
I was thinking of going to Fast.co.uk before Be but when I do an availability check I get this:
This line already has Broadband ADSL installed, has an ISDN/ Home Highway service or is currently unsuitable for ADSL.
Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 2Mbps.
Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 5Mbps up to 8Mbps.
The actual ADSL Max line rate supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use, after which time the highest stable rate possible will be set.
If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase.

Does anyone know what this is? Is this the LLU Orange have me on? And do you think it will be fine moving to Be without cancelling with Orange first or am I going to have problems? Hope somebody can help
It just means there is already broadband there and a new product cannot be ordered over the top of an existing product. This is precisely what the MAC code is for, to move an existing product to another company (a bit more complicated when LLU is involved on either side, though you shouldn't notice that) without ceasing it and have a new order submitted which would leave you without broadband for a period of time.
