Hi suppose to be on 8mb(cough cough) but get a connection speed of 0.9mb
constant emails to Orange and phonecalls and just get fobbed off with its a known engineer problem and there working on it!if its known why didnt they tell me before i signed up!

any help wud be grateful. i only live 800metres from the exchange i can see it from my window lol, when i was 1and half miles down the road i was on same exchange getting 6.5meg

First thing that stands out is that you are on a fixed 1mb line so your speed will not go above 1mb. From stats your line is capable of a lot more.
Not very good for an up to 8mb service. Could be worse some are on 608 which is about 0.5 mb.
For the reason you will have to ask Orange. Suggest that you ring up and ask for MAC code - they will then suddenly remember that they can take the cap off.
just rang them, asked them why my line was capped to 1meg and get the responce im sorry our systems are down at the moment so i am unable to bring up your account. gona wait for the nxt dd then get my MAC code they are a joke
Leaving Orange is the best thing you can do really.
As you have found out yourself - they are indeed a joke!
As soon as you move to a real ISP you will get proper download speeds, like myself and thousands of others who left.
