Just wanted to announce that I've now migrated to another ISP (Zen) and rang Orange today to inform them that I wish to cancel my 'broadband service' with them. Service being the key word of course! Or lack of it.
I was told by the woman on the 'phone that I would be liable for payment of outstanding term (approx. 8 months) and a cancellation fee. (about £152 quids worth altogether).
I told her she, or more specifically Orange, wouldn't be getting another penny out of me in return for the poor service they have provided me with since joining them as they, in my opinion, had broken the contract by not providing me with the advertised service. She said she'd put it on the 'system' that I had cancelled. I also informed her that I was also cancelling my DD with my bank and that any further payments to Orange would cease immediately. She didn't seem that bothered really and agreed that she gets lots of people calling and doing the same.
Soooooo, ORANGE, if you are monitoring this........UP YOURS!! You won't get another penny from me..DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!?!
Take me to court if you like and we'll each present our case to the beak. Mine is "YOU HAVEN'T PROVIDED THE SERVICE I HAVE BEEN PAYING YOU FOR!"
Yours could be something like "we have been taking this guys money for little in return...your honour"

Nice one m8 .I'm in the process of migrating to another isp .Orange have finally let me cancel without paying the cancellation fee.It took over 30 phone calls to complain about my 6mb broadband that has gone down to 0.1 mbps.
No one at Orange gives a toss about fixing anything.

I hate to be the one to point it out, but 30 calls to Orange CS on their premium rate line, given the half an hour (minimum) a time has probably covered your cancellation fee
