My phone line which is heavily discounted with Talk Talk was suspended today because I'd reached my limit and clocked up a bill for £170. its usually no more than £20.
Orange gave me compensatory 'free dial-up' whilst I'm unable to get BB. Only it wasnt properly free. WTF?
Another thing to add to my compensation claim through CISAS. I've started recording my phone calls to Orange customer service, including the one today when the Orange employee told me I could claim my phone bill back hope its not another lie.
If you are using an 0844 number for dial-up check you're not being charged.

Nash: I was dialling 08440587000.
I didnt put 1470 in front of it- the new number I've been given is:
1470016164208450790070
Perhaps its the 1470 that makes it a free number, better check it mate - for proof I recorded the phone call that the tech person said I could claim the bill back through CS. The retards didnt activate a free account, just gave me a number and said off you go. Another blunder to add to the growing list.

1470 does not make the call free.
Some lines do not broadcast their number when a call is made - 1470 ensures that who ever is receiving the call can see the number that it is coming from.

Best to test any free dial up number that Orange provides for a short period before trusting it. You can then go to BT.com and view your previous days call charges after midnight to make sure that it's not being charged.

And why so many digits after the 1470? That's a Manchester number, so should be 7 digits after the 0161 bit
