Hello im new here! been having a few problems with Orange broadband...

the only one i cant figure out is i can't access ebay.co.uk however every other web page ive tried works. Ebay.co.uk works on other internet connections just not this one at my house?

any ideas?

UNABLE TO ACCESS WEB PAGES

FIRST just check that Norton Security or a similar product is not the cause of the problem - not likely in your case.

USB Speedtouch 330 Modem syncs up OK and both lights are solid green, you can log on OK but cannot access many websites and in some cases (eg hotmail) they cannot send/receive emails from a local client using pop3 and smtp.

For some strange reason you can normally access www.orangeproblems.co.uk.

The cause of this is incorrect network adapter Maximum Transmission Unit or MTU setting.

To try:

1430 MTU, 166800 RWIN
1458 MTU, 153144 RWIN

Others have also solved the problem by changing the normal settings:

Internet protocol : pppoa
Encapsulation : VC-Mux
VP : 0
VC : 38

to Internet protocol pppoe - however this is not the setting as advised by Orange. To change the MTU needs some skill so changing this internet protocol may be the easiest change to make.

Not everyone has the same IP address for their router, mine's
http://192.168.0.1/start.htm (or even http://192.168.0.1/ will work)
and even that can be configured
