While you can't set them in the livebox you can set them on the PC itself therefore overriding it.
Technically there should be no real difference in speeds. DNS would only usually effect how fast your system can request the lookup of an address. Once it's found there shouldn't be much need for DNS to be involved until you need to access another server/source etc.
