I'm writing this on Thursday night. Last Friday night, my speeds seemed to plummet, and since then I have gone through the many calls, resets, speed tests, line tests, etc., the rest of you have. Two days ago, I was asked to wait 48 hours and call back for an update on the problem. When I called tonight, they said wait another five days. I spoke to a bloke and told him I want to cancel my contract and wanted the remaining seven months written off as I wasn't getting what I'm promised in the terms. The terms promise a minimum of 512 kbps; what I actually get is 8 kbps. That is correct, EIGHT kbps. He mumbled something about putting me through to someone, blah-blah, then I got a phone just ringing and ringing. I then re-dialled that bloke's number and got a girl who said the department I needed was closed and she had no idea who he had tried to put me through to, as there was no-one who could discuss cancelling. I told her my whole sorry tale and got the distinct impression she had heard it all a million times before and knew her company is crap. I then asked her if SHE used Orange, to which she replied, "Oh, NO! I am with Sky!" Says it all, really. I would email them again with my complaints, but they didn't respond to the previous one, four days ago. Alas, I am a journalist... I am going to do something about it all. Watch this space.
