I have the livebox setup wireless to my computer and also to my squeezebox 3. Both work fine.
I am trying to connect via ethernet cable a QNAP TS101 NAS which is a hard disc storage device which contains all my music for the squeezebox and stores my photo's for the computer. I cannot get it to work in any way shape or form. When I plug it into the livebox I cannot access it through my computer or the squeeze box.
It worked fine in my previous setup a Buffalo airstation all setup in the same way \i am attempting to set it up wih the livebox.
Any help please as its driving me nuts.
As gadgetgaz said it'll be down to it's IP address, as it's a deadicated network device they're often set up on static IP addresses. Check it's instructions as you'll more than likely need to access it directly in order to get it setup. (Probably need to change your pc's settings in order to do that)
Either way once in you just need to change it's IP to, for example, 192.168.1.2, should then work fine when reconnected.
'Obtain IP address settings automatically via DHCP' and this is ticked or I have an option to use a static IP which is not ticked.
If I access the NAS through my Buffalo airstation it gives me an IP address of
192.168.11.2
When I plug it into the livebox I can see the IP address it has given it as
192.254.100.100 on the quick install wizard screen but when I click to access the NAS it won't ever take me to the setup screen which it does do on the buffalo airstation and as such I can not access anything on the hard disc.
