I have been with Orange 4 months already but only the first 1 and half actually connecting. My connection has been not working since the day up to now and I would like to ask if there is any T&C allow user to ask for a termination legally within the contract? Cos I am not supposed to be charged for nothing, anybody could tell me pls?

BREACH OF CONTRACT
Orange are clearly in breach of the contract and Orange should be paying you compensation.
Each monthly payment you make to Orange is made in advance.
A dispute over the contract is not grounds to refuse to issue a MAC code. New rules from Ofcom state that the MAC code must be provided in 5 days or they can fine company 10% of their turnover.
Just a quick update, I have been asked to wait for 2 more days for a line test. (will they do it?/??) I am really have no choice other than just keep waiting....
It seems Orange are falling in line thanks to Ofcoms new legislation bought in on 11th February 2007
I have 8 months of my 12 month contract left. I phoned up for a MAC code (phone at midday UK time and speak to someone whos not reading from a script) I got straight through.
I asked for a MAC Code, they said OK but you still have £40.00 outstanding on your account who you liek to pay this.
I said no I wouldnt, I would be happy to dispute the outstnading balance at a later date but for now could they just issue me with a MAC Code.
They said this wouldnt be a problem, took my Email address and will send the MAC Code within 3 days
i was told ,in no uncertain terms, that generating a MAC Code would AUTOMATICALLY result in me being charged for the rest of my 12 month contract. (about £230)....
so, i havent a MAC code just yet - i have to see if i can stop the direct debits at my bank first.

It should be the "use" of the MAC code not the generation that causes the charge. I don't know for sure but that would be a stupid way to run it as then anyone who didn't use the code would need the money back and thats just more work for them.
