Orange told me that if they haven't fixed the service within 4 weeks you are "within your rights" (as if I didn't have any before!) to cancel your contract without penalty.
And I got told the same crap about not getting a MAC whilst they are migrating. Might be best to just cancel the line and just start from scratch with a new ISP ??

what do you mean by "cancelling the line"? is that a job for BT - as in just call BT up and tell them to totally cancel my phone line.
and then sign up a new one from scratch?
(if i dont get anywhere i might do just that... and screw the Orange "contract")
Keggars: re: 4wk entitlement to cancel
Been there got the postcard.
To get a fee waiver you need written authorisation from tech services.
For tech services to give authorisation you have to go through the torture of dealing with project India, at least half hour of repeating your name and going through diagnostics. They have no team leader, they have no authority to authorise customer services to waiv the fee. They passed me back to customer servcies. How mentally draining is that?
In other words, its more bull***t from Orange and impossible to get it waived.
I'm still waiting for customers services to reply to my detailed letter of complaint requesting compensation. That was last Friday I sent it.
Follow Mr scruff, aim for thr top and avoid the middle men at all costs, you'll be running from pillar to post with nothing to gain. The phone 'help' cant do anyhting to take away your pain. They just telly you lies.

I mean just cancelling the contract full stop. But then as far as I'm aware if you go to a new ISP you have to go through the whole thingy of waiting for 2 weeks for your line to be connected again.

Well thats a whole lot better than wasting time waiting for Orange to actually do something.
After 2 months with no broadband my line is now clear of Orange and I have signed up with BT Option 3, only trouble is they are so busy it will be the 14th of May before I am connected.
Hopefully this will be the end of my BB troubles having been part of the original V21/Biscit/Netservices fiasco.
