Thanks mate, I tried that though, and it didn't work. I also tried a few of the other options when it asks you to choose a printer, none of them worked.
It's an as yet unreleased service that people are trying to get working manually. As we don't know anything specific about the system or any software Orange are using it's very hard to duplicate. Until someone discovers some secret to it or Orange release it it'll stay very hit and miss.
Elhana,
Why did Orange release the firmware update so long ago for the Livebox if they weren't going to release the software or tell customers how to use it?
I have set mine up manually and it works ok but consider this to be poor customer service.
I don't know for certain but have heard mentions it's been setback for some reason. Firmware updates are usually pretty far apart and they probably didn't expect it to be set back like this.
Would it be any better service if they did release it and it just didn't work with say 80% of all printers?
I installed a USB printer through the livebox USB connector with no problems, after I followed the advice given to use TCP/IP ports and manually installing the printer by choosing it by name and having the printer driver disk to hand, although if you have installed it before and it is not a new printer the installation is a breeze, expecially in Vista. I then deleted the original printer and set this TCP/IP as the default. Although I give it unique name to make it easier for anyone else to choose it to print.
Here is what i did i already had the printer installed so i just plugged it into the livebox. Then went to the printer under control panal and changed its port to tcp/ip chose 192.168.1.1 as the address and hey presto works fine. ~Works under vista and also on wifes laptop which is xp home.
