Have just finished helping a friend get a MAC code from Orange so that he can move to another ISP. {one that works !}
I first rang Orange on Monday 5th March and was told that i would receive the code by e mail within 5 working days.
Rang again Monday 12th March as no code had been received.
Told very sorry but they had been unable to send it by e-mail due to problems with their system,{seem to have seen that mentioned somewhere before !} so they had actually posted it out via Royal mail on Thursday 8th BUT to give it until Thursday 15th to arrive.
Sooooooooooooo today comes and guess what no MAC code in the mail !!
So rang again {Rotherham call centre} was told sorry can not do anything for at least 1 hour as the "system is down" due to a major up date and no one {ANYWHERE in the Orange WORLD} can get into anything for at least 1 hour so please ring back then !!!!.
Rang back straight away as i did not believe this got through again to the Rotherham call centre and guess what ??? No problems getting into the system and the person on the phone had no knowledge or idea as to why someone should have told me that the system was down !
Told her the story re the missing MAC code and having checked on her screen I was told the reason that i had not got it was because Orange had not actioned my request {which was logged}! She of course had no explanation as to why i had previously been told that one could not be e mailed to me due to a system fault or that one had been posted to me ! Was told i would get one within the next 24 hours to which i insisted i got one in the next 2 mins. After 5 mins of holding she came back to me with the code and put my on to her team leader as i insisted on telling someone else that i felt that i had been "lied" to on 3 separate occasions by members of the call centre.
So if anyone else has a problem getting a code and is told that you can not have one generated and given to you on the phone within 5 mins DO NOT BELIEVE THEM ! Insist and stand your ground it can be done !

That is true Orange lied to me i only got my MAC via the ISPA last year ive recently migrated again from IDNet i emailed for my MAC they emailed me the MAC within 2 hours (wonders why Orange can't do that), Orange are well known on other forums for delay tactics or invalid MACS or claiming no other ISP will accept an LLU MAC which again is totally untrue.

They played exactly the same game with me.First it was going to be posted at my request cos I didnt have an internet service that worked..of course this was the same internet service they were ripping me off for.Then it was "We will send another one"..........then it was " I will read it over the phone" They did but left a digit out.....and no Im not deaf.Then it was "Sorry here it is again"......again with a digit missing. Finally a very nice lady said "I dont know how they got that wrong its as plain as day". So off I went with a MAC code that was issued on the 12th and expired on the 19th.
As luck would have it BT my new ISP got my service running on the 18th,and problems with internet connections,dropping out,rubbish bandwidth........have all disappeared.
Orange are world class at bull***t............Ive never met a company that come even close to them.
