new to this forum. am glad to have found this site, i thought i was on my own with these problems!!
my story goes back to august 2006 and line dropping issues once a livebox was installed. anyway to cut a long story short they have improved my connection but only by reducing my download speed to a capped 0.5mb!! absolutely useless. cant get this back up. i have had this problem highlighted on a bbc radio station consumer programme. then got a call from a very nice guy at Orange who gave me his personal line number and promised all would be sorted. it wasn't!! now his number is 'not in use' so i am back to square one.
i've had enough and want to leave. i will request a MAC code, but can someone please tell me, will my service (limited as it is) still be available to me during the process of leaving Orange??
what is the usual period of non-service between leaving and your new provider setting you up??

requested a MAC code at 10am this morning - had it emailed to me by 2pm same day!!
actually they sent me 2 and i had to phone them to check which one was valid. is this another ruse by them to complicate the matter.
sending this code was the only time they have done anything remotely efficient on my account. are they trying to make me feel guilty about leaving??
