My exchange is the NINE ELMS exchange in vauxhall, i've read somewhere that it was upgraded to LLU around 2005, i'll try find the link for it in a bit.
It seems like my connection around peak time is slowly getting back to normal but still low if i was to compare to what i was getting about a month ago...

I too, am on the vauxhall exchange and yes LLU was enabled late 2005. Those stats look awfully inconsistant, especially your uploads- which don't seem to correlate with LLU- I'm not aware of stats jumping about like yours, only those on ADSLMAX during the testing period where the most stable speed is determined.
The stats look pretty stable to me, it's just the actual throughput that's jumping around. Also Peop it's not upload's it's % compared to the sync speed, took me a while to realise too.
Apart from once it hits 7pm it was looking pretty good. I hope it continues to improve.
If this is the genuine case with my speeds and sekshi's for the vauxhall exchange, this raises more bloody questions than answers.
Sekshi, could you confirm how long you have been with Orange?
If sekshi has recently signed up/moved to the LLU then those good speeds could be attributed to the "Better speeds for new customers" speculation I alluded to in another thread.
Another question this raises, is the obvious one- why hasn't my speed increased? Its been verified by Orange that the reason for my speeds is due to the exchange needing upgrading. This situation could mean, theres no actual upgrades on existing equipment, merely new equipment being added to the old - so only newer customers may benefit?
I am surprised that no one from Orange can actually spill the beans on what exactly is happening at exchanges- Is there actual upgrades to equipment to increase peoples speeds taking place? If so, whats the schedule?
I've been with Orange, according to my statements coming up to 7months. Prior to that i was with Bulldog 4mb, which i had no problems at all with their speeds off peak/ peak it was always 4mb down 488 up.
The only reason I can think of for my good speeds is that im basically 170metres (crow's fly) away from the exchange. Im not aware of any upgrading so far for the NINE ELMS exchange, but on the 26th Feb 2007 i called up again to tell them that my connection wasn't any better.
The lady on the phone assured me that within 48 hours my connection will resume back to what it was, as they made some updates to the "software" in the exchange. Surprisingly enough my speeds did start to improve a couple days later.
This is very interesting. I've looked at your other thread too.
To quote the email you received:

The whole thing seems odd, they appear to have ceased your broadband, they make some 'updates' in the exchange. Then you get great speeds. You also sync at 8128 288.
If you indeed have received an 'upgrade' for your LLU connection, this asks even more questions:
- Are these upgrades are done individually? I assumed any upgrades relate to the entire equipment at the exchange, and not for each individual customer.
- If your syncing at 8128/288, while I'm at 608/288- this must mean I'm purposely being kept at this sync
This just highlights the inconsistencies of service- even at exchange level. I'll let this play on my mind until I feel p!ssed off enough to squander more money on CS.
On a more conspiratorial note, seeing as Oranges LLU network is getting such bad press (as opposed to ADSLMAX), how hard would it be to put a ADSLMAX cap limit on say, Uploads to 288? Hence masking ADSLMAX as LLU and skewing skewing the idea that no one is getting high speeds with LLU?

Ok, I going to apologise, I have my info wrong. My exchange is classed as a 'Vauxhall' exchange, however, it is not located at NINE ELMS as Sekshi, but in Kennington. Hence, the possbility of Sekshi getting decent speeds on one exchange, with myself sucking on another....It's like a postcode lottery...
lol, i may have had my hopes up to much... since monday or tuesday, my net has gone back down to its pathetic 0.5mb speed as soon as it hits 4pm to about 11pm, im going to have start making speedtests for when i call Orange T/S.
Just a question for any technically minded people, can the IP address your assigned affect the speed of your net? Because it seems when my IP address starts with 84.70.__.__ , my connection just goes to hell during peak times i.e. 0.5mb or worse. But when its begins with 62.__.__.__ , even during peak times, my connection can maintain fairly stable 2mb connection (im basing all this from what i can see on my speedtest history DSLzoneUK.net)... anyone can confirm if im chatting rubbish or not xD Thanks.
Hope you make the most of the good times you connect at higher speed. TBH, your dip back into abysmal service does not surprise me, theres not been one person I've seen here get their sh!tty low speeds increase to an acceptable higher speeds...
I personally have witnessed over the time I have spent with Orange, that my IP will either start with 60 something, or 80 something. Currently it has been 80 something for the past few months, I have always had consistent speeds albeit half meg. If speed is dependant on which IP you connect, this remains to be seen- what would be ideal is having another person using the exact same exchange to get a comparison.
I'll still stand by the yo-yo'ing you are having with those stats you have, especially in the short space of time you have run those tests the variation is awfully haphazard. When downloading larger files do you max out your speed or does it fluctuate as your tests suggest?
I recon if EVERYONE on Orange posted their stats here we would see exactly the same trends regardless of which exchange you are on. They screwed everything up and admit it.
i think two things here :-
1) they know what speeds everyone is getting and have worked things that way intentionally.
2) they have no intention of changing anything
Isnt that obvious to anyone else?
He who shouts loudest gets Oranges attention for a while
He who accepts what he / she has is a fool
He/She who wants internet BROADBAND access should go to another ISP.
