Still a bit new to all this "livebox" thing BUT learning fast ! Since managing to get it up and running 2 weeks ago it has worked OK belive it or belive it not ! My system information page shows :
Noise margin 11.7
Attenuation 63.0
Attainable Download rate 3584
Shown underneath this it states:
The Downstream rate 2272 Upstream 288
I am NOT {pleased to say looking at all the problems that it seems to be giving !} on a llu exchange , my exchange has ADSL Max.
My line stats have not changed since i connected 2 weeks ago and my regular speed checks show that i am achieving 1930 down and 245 up very consistently.
I thought that the Livebox would therefore have "increased my speed" towards the 8 mb max over this period by now ,OR dos the 2272 and 288 showing mean that it is somehow "capped" with those maximums? If so is there any way of getting my speed up ? Hope some one can shed some light on this for me. Many Thanks !!
Many Thanks for the input everybody. Thought that i may be on a fixed rate line and not the "up to 8 meg" that i was told that i would be by Orange when they "upgraded "me from a 2meg connection in order to keep my custom. However due to my line stats and various checks that i have done i think that i will follow the "leave well alone" advice that i have had. Since i have installed the livebox it is all operating OK which is not what it did following the original move up to 2meg {from 1 meg} whilst still using the Speedtouch 330 modem {when i suffered repeated loss of sync}which is why i got the "free" upgrade.
Just a bit annoyed though that they have not done what they said they was going to do. Many thanks again.!!!!!!!!
