If you go with BT, Oranges Broadband equipment will be disconnected from your line (easiest way to describe it), and BT will connect their Broadband equipment to your line.

I almost fell off my chair when the Orange broadband connection worked this evening (2.5Meg)! First time in 2 months. I actually put it down to me posting here.
Been off line (well on a free dial up) since April. Couldn't jump ship sooner as my wife is a student and needed the internet at home until her exams were over.
